Vampires Suck

I found this film funny in parts but the majority of it was mostly boring and dissatisfying. However, the trailer looks very comical and I found the clips used in the trailer were the only amusing parts in the film; some of them aren’t even in Vampires Suck! I went to view it with my sisters and there were lots of jokes, but no-one in the cinema laughed! The film is 82 minutes long which is quite short for a movie although, I found that it dragged on.

The story is a mix of Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse, which are a series of vampire books/films. Vampires Suck also includes the beginning of Breaking Dawn which will come as a disappointment to most girls following the Twilight Saga, as the legitimate Breaking Dawn is due to be released November 2010. In addition, many teenagers who are fans of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner haven’t read the final book yet and I think finding out the final plot in a comical manner would ruin the original. Also, in Vampires Suck I find the actors resemble quite a lot of the original Twilight cast, especially Jenn Proske who plays Becca (Bella), this made it seem too much like the Twilight saga and made the name changes seem a bit pointless e.g. Lady Gaga seemed random and Alice in Wonderland a bit bizarre and irrelevant.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend this movie because the material was too similar to the Twilight Saga plotline and the comical value was a poor effort.
