The Script - Science & Faith
Rhiann Tintor
Today’s culture is heavily influenced by music, lyrics and also the performers. Therefore, when a new song comes along, a new mood amongst listeners, developed through music, is created.
When I first heard The Script’s new album, I felt captured by the feelings of heartbreak and loss. I found the album uplifting but highly emotional, as the lyrics are hard-hitting and not typical of other artists in the industry. In addition, I particularly found that the lyrics, surrounding the issue of ‘not being good enough’, enlightening as they really made me think.
The album contains 10 tracks, which also features ‘For the First Time’. This song appeared in the charts in September 2010 and reached number 5 in the UK charts. As well as ‘For the First Time’, ‘Nothing’ was released on 19th November 2010, and this song proved just as successful.
Overall, I think my favourite song of the whole album has to be ‘If You Ever Come Back’. The song conveyed a really strong message about not being able to move on. I find that I can relate to this and I am sure many others will find that too. I honestly think that the lyrics used are beautiful, and it amazes me how they are articulated to create sympathy for people who experience loss.
After listening to every song on this emotion filled album, I think the album deserves 4 out of 5. I believe this album is definitely worth a listen and is one of my favourite albums to recommend.
