Did you hear about the Morgans?

Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker are casted perfectly in this light romantic comedy. Sarah Jessica Parker who is usually known for the role of ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ in Sex and The City plays Meryl Morgan a sophisticated woman from Manhattan.
Paul Morgan (Grant) and Meryl recently divorced because of Pauls infidelity, just when he thinks there is no hope to save his marriage, they both witness a murder and are forced by the FBI to leave their city life and enter a witness protection programme. Whilst staying with a retired FBI agent and his wife in a small rural town the couple are forced to spend time together and work out their issues. Grant portrays a slightly insensitive yet comical part, very much like his previous role in ‘Two Weeks Notice’, whilst Parker portrays the hurt, angry ex wife who is unsure about how much Paul loves her. The comedy in this film is quite light hearted however Hugh Grant’s hopelessness with words and Parker’s reserved attitude towards her deceitful husband sets the tone for most of the film which leaves the audience feeling slightly awkward and irritated. It seems that everyone except the couple themselves can see how perfect they are together. However when Paul makes the ultimate sacrifice for his ex wife you are led to believe that there is still hope for Meryl and Paul Morgan.
