Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Scott Greaves

Battlefield Bad Company 2 had quite a shaky launch, as not very many people were into Battlefield, due to the recent release of the latest call of duty game. However, eventually most people became bored of call of duty and decided to try battlefield, and what a surprise they got.

Battlefield's campaign is the same as any other first person shooter games campaign; it is fast paced, exciting and has a good story to follow. The story puts you, the gamer, as a member of bad company, which is a group of 4 military losers, who seem to just blow everything up! However, they have never failed a mission. There are four characters in Bad Company 2; there is Sarge, a medic, a demolitions expert and you. There are around thirteen missions and thought that all of them were amazing. My personal favourite is called heavy metal, as in this mission you have to drive a heavy tank through five towns, blowing up everything you see, including buildings full of enemies.

In addition, there is online game play, and this is where things start to get really exciting. The company, who make the battlefield series, Dice, seem to have perfected online game play, as there is so much to explore and experience. In online multiplayer you can play in different game modes, such as rush or capture the flag. You can also get involved in an ordinary death match. In all of the game modes, on all of the maps, there are vehicles. These vehicles are a big part of online game play, as they help you knock down buildings and blow up enemy cover. There are five types of vehicle online, such as lightweight tanks, heavy tanks, armoured cars, quad bikes, motorbikes and helicopters. Furthermore, you can use all of these to flank the enemy and lower there score. I think it is simply fantastic, and great fun to play. For me, there really is nothing comparable to this game.

Bad Company 2 is an epic game and has won many awards for its amazing campaign and online game play. Bad Company 2 has been around a few years now and this year Bad Company 3 is being launched. Dice have promised that it will be even more amazing and personally, I cannot wait!
